Pumpkins for the Planet

We’d love to have your help! Thanks to the generous support of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? we will be able to send 3 truckloads of pumpkins to local farms.

Individual volunteers: Fill in our volunteer form or use our webform to send us a message. 

For farms who may wish to take carved pumpkins for their soil or their animals , please use the Farms sign up form. 

Possible individual volunteer roles:

• Contacting Farms, Food Centres, Construction and Landscaping Companies (emailing and talking on the phone)

• General Logistics (administrative tasks that can be done from home)

• Social Media Promotion (making Facebook posts, designing posters, sending/sharing Tweets)

• Collection Site (being a local drop-off point for pumpkins in your neighbourhood)

• Local Driver (driving from collection sites)

• Food Security (working to make sure intact pumpkins get to humans)

• Pumpkin Lifter (help load pumpkins onto vehicles - AKA give me a date and time and I'll be there)

Roles for farms or other partners

We would love to sign up some partners who can help us transport pumpkins to Pumpkin Alley (759 Springland Dr). If your business or organization owns an insured dump truck or trailer and can help us transport more pumpkins from local collection sites in Ottawa South to pumpkin alley you will help us increase our capacity to accept more pumpkins and we would be pleased to feature you in all of our Pumpkins for the Planet promotion.
